So, this happened... 2018

2018 has been a pretty busy year and we are incredibly grateful to all of the amazing creativity, talent & spirit that has graced us.

Here are few of the highlights, in no particular order:

Dane Sandborg (Foxtrails) & Amanda Espy (Ritual Gold) completed their unique & beautiful EP, entitled Gold & Odin.

Our Earthstar family has been the busiest bees of all –  Space Babies released “Spaceport”, “The Space Babies Show: A Song in a Day”, “Love Song” (The Cure cover), “White Bird (It’s A Beautiful Day cover), “Fly Like an Eagle” (Steve Miller Band cover), a fun remix of “Touch a Human”, “Life is a Doorway”, “Child of Nature” (John Lennon cover) & “Book of Light”. The 12 legged groove machine from Manchester, UK artist The Winachi Tribe has visited twice this year while working with JX on a few songs for their upcoming album

Earthstar’s very own GregJam (Greg Beylerian, Michael Vest, John X Volaitis, Nico Borromeo & Hal Cragin) & special guest/Armenian woodwind master Norik Manoukian have completed a beautiful merging of worlds in an upcoming triple album entitled “Highland Revolution”.

Warren Cuccurullo (Frank Zappa, Missing Persons, Duran Duran) completed his newest CD entitled “Missing Person”.

Farmer Dave Scher, Nico Borromeo & Team Mar Vista ArtWalk – Steppin into Art got deep in an all-niter to complete the KCRW #RadioRace and this is how it turned out!

Chris Monti (guitarist – Big Nazo) stopped in to record a love song for his fiancé while she was out shopping for a wedding dress – both completed their missions in less than 2 hours.

Indonesian surfer/DJ/electro whiz Dully Wave threw down some magnificent magic with his cool toys & guitar.

Experimental vocalist Sussan Deyhim & songwriter Jeannie Lurie were still smiling after Sussan came in and sang 55 stellar tracks in 3.5 hours!!

During the summer, Little Monarch graced us with their trifecta of talent, while playing dress-up with found objects.

Engineer Ben Kernion & artist JDub (https://www.akajdub.com/) dropped the bass on a mighty track.

Had a great session here with Manchester, UK locals Tom Ash & Jack Carpenter (The Luckies). These 2 played about 20 acoustic guitar & vocal songs while standing & facing each other… and laughing most of the time.

Aaron Wills aka Peanut (311) and friends Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction), Kaveh Rastegar (Kneebody and Dakah) & Matt DeMerritt (Macy Gray, De La Soul) joined forces for an all-star instrumental journey.

Mark Lewis & Monalia Ventress aka Guarro Martinez recruited a colorful crew {Lauren Wood,  Mike Tempo (Bonedaddys), Paul Lacques (I See Hawks in LA)} to join them for Canto de Lluvia (Rain Chant), La Moncha & Feel My Body Throb

Alanis Morissette popped in to do some writing with the talented Julian Coryell & keyboardist Mike Farrell for the musical theater presentation of Jagged Little Pill

John Schneider, Dan Lippel & Mac Grgic graced us with some microtonal guitar magic as only they can do.

A bunch of really fun jams and a couple of voiceovers for Gimlet Media (featuring Nando Villa) & Dotted Music – (Featuring Kellie Sue Peters)

We are also proud to announce that 2 members of our Earthstar family received Grammy nominations this year – so we shoutout P!nk & Beck with congratulations!
